In 1948, the Olympic Games were organized in London, Ant Sun Dena expressed his opinion that the players of the Asian Games were not able to see well in the competition to be held in Europe, on this they gave their opinion on the competition of Asian Games so that Their training level can also increase so that they can perform well in the international level.



A meeting was held in London in 1948, the games were also involved, Asian countries like India, Korea, Sri Lanka etc. All the countries involved gave their suggestion as to how the Games could be organized. In 1949, all the countries expressed satisfaction with their event. The Asian Athletics Association was also formed in this meeting, as well as it was decided to hold the Asian Games once in every 4 years, as well as all the plans were also understood in detail.



The first Asian Games were held in New Delhi from March 4 to 11 in 1954.


A total of 11 countries participated in the first Asian Games which are as follows India Japan Iran Sri Lanka Burma Malaya Thailand Philippe Nepal



Japan won the most medals in the first Asian Games, followed by India in second place.
