DIPLOMA IN SPORTS COACHING (DSC)

[Two-Semesters]

(only for Defense and Para-Military Personnel's)

 DISCIPLINE OFFERED

Diploma in Sports Coaching shall be offered in following games/sports viz. Athletics,

Basketball, Football and Volleyball (subject to administrative feasibility).

Note : The minimum number of students required to run the course in a game/sports shall

be ten (10).

 ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION

-  A candidate shall be eligible to appear in Entrance Test for Diploma in Sports

Coaching if he has passed 10+2 examination/equivalent examination

conducted by CBSE/State or UT Board/Open School Board.\

- The candidate must be deputed to the course by Defense/Army Sports Control

Board and para-military services.

Note :

(i) All the candidates appearing as Supplementary / Compartment in qualifying

examinations for the session 2019-20 are eligible to appear in Entrance Test but

their final results must be declared on or before the last date of Registration.

(ii) Candidates should note that no “call letter” for the Entrance Test shall be sent to

them by Post.

(iii) Admission to physically challenged candidates of any category is not permissible,

as candidates of this course are required to perform sports and other physical

activities.

 ADMISSION PROCEDURE

 Admission shall be made on merit, on the basis of Marks (Merit) obtained in

the Entrance Test as per the policy of the Institute.

1. ONLINE TEST

Consists of 60 Multiple-Choice Questions. The duration of test will be of 60 minutes. Syllabus of Online Test is given in

60 Marks -  40% Marks Weightage 

2. SPORTS ACHIEVEMENT/ PARTICIPATION CERTIFICATE- 100 Marks - 60% Marks Weightage 

Criteria of Marks for Sports Achievement/Participation Certificate :

(Last three years from the date of admission

Athletics, Basketball, Football, Handball and Volleyball shall be considered

for DSC program .

(ii) Direct Admission to International sportsperson (as per norms of the

institute)

(iii) Only one highest achievement/participation certificate should be submitted.

(iv) Format of Affidavit by the student regarding Sports Achievement/

Participation Certificate is enclosed at

FEE STRUCTURE

Each Student shall pay the fee as given in 

Note : If in any games/sports the course is dropped/discontinued by the Institute due to

candidates being less than 10, then fee will be refunded to provisionally selected

candidates.

 UNIFORM

Uniform will be provided by the Institute as per 

 COURSE INFORMATION

Duration of the course is 01 year (two-semesters). A candidate must complete the

Course and pass the final examination within two academic years from the first

admission to this programme. Details of Theory Subjects and Practical Skills are as

follows:

 THEORY SUBJECTS :

Fundamentals of Anatomy, Physiology and Physiology of Exercise;

Fundamentals of Kinesiology and Biomechanics; General Methods of Sports

Training; Applied Sports Psychology; Sports Anthropometry; Athlete’s Care

& Rehabilitation; Theory of Main Sport/Game: Paper – I and Theory of Main

Sport/Game: Paper – II.

PRACTICAL :

Skills proficiency and Playing Ability; Officiating; Teaching and Coaching

Ability.

 INTERNSHIP :

Internship of duration (two months) preferably in the month of May, June & July.

Note : No Boarding & Lodging facility will be provided to the admitted candidates at the Institute.
